Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover for karate instructors may be available at standard rates, so long as you don’t do things that the insurer sees as super risky. A lot of your work as a karate instructor doesn’t increase the risk of some claims for critical illness cover, but it can increase the risk of claims for traumatic head injury, coma and total permanent disability.
You may find some insurers exclude total permanent disability from your critical illness cover, with it being a higher risk to you, than say someone that is working at a desk.
