Wash Your Hands - Stop Look Listen

Hi everybody. A different Stop Look Listen this time.

Now this is something I’ve been seeing going on the internet, especially with everything going on about Coronavirus. And I thought it was really important to possibly do something like this to show my kids, who are all here, all three of my boys, about the importance of hand washing, and how to make it really obvious to them.

And that whole thing of like why you need to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. So, I’m going to do a little bit from the guidance. So, boys if you can see.

A bit too much, a bit too much for mummy.

I’ve got black on my hands okay? Now I’m going to do the first thing that they suggest about washing your hands for 20 seconds. So, the first thing they say is that you do the back of your hands like this.

Yeah?

But if you look, the tops of my fingers and my thumbs are still missing. So, let’s put a little bit of this colour on okay?

And a bit of the pink colour, see where that goes okay?

So now we’re going to do the next bit, which is doing our hands, and wringing our hands like this, getting it all in our fingernails, and the tops of those bits of our fingers yeah?

And see, oh I think all the purple’s disappeared into the black. That didn’t work like I expected. But there we go, look all the ends of my fingers are sorted, but my thumbs aren’t sorted.

They are not clean yet still.

So, I think we’ve done more than 20 seconds at this point, haven’t we?

So now I’m going to do it where I do my thumb, I’m doing my thumb on this side as well. I’m going to make sure I do all around the back of my hands, up to my wrists and everything.

So that’s taken way more than 20 seconds to make sure that all of my hands are fully clean.

That’s a good way to demonstrate it isn’t it?
