Getting to know us better – May 2022 recapGetting to know us better – May 2022 recap

We’ve had another busy month here at Cura, doing what we love the most, helping our clients. We’re super happy to say that one of our trainee protection insurance advisers passed her last test before being a fully fledged adviser here at Cura, great work! We like to think that we do our best to help our clients and love it when our feedback reflects that:

“I would like to say a very big thank you to all the entire company Cura Financial Services especially Amy you really went beyond all means to make sure I was updated and given the right information, you never gave up on me until I got my insurance. Amy l just want to say a big thank you. God bless you.” Lorraine, May 2022.

Our donation of the month for May was to Mark Bryant. Mark had previously been diagnosed with blood cancer and is now undergoing a Terminal to Triathlon project. The aim of this is to raise money to go towards helping cancer patients receive alternative and rehabilitation services, running the project and to go towards future research and treatment.

Meet the team
Vanessa – Paraplanner

I began working for Cura just over 3 years ago, starting as an Administrator supporting Advisers before moving on to an Executive Assistant role for Alan Knowles (Company Director). Within the last couple of months I recently transitioned onto a Paraplanner role which involves reviewing existing client policies and needs to ensure they have the most suitable cover for their circumstances. My favourite part of the job is organisation, I like things to be in a good order and in the right space.

Case study

A woman approaching 30 came to Cura needing life insurance to cover her mortgage and provide her family with financial security. She had been diagnosed with hepatitis C at birth caused by a hospital error. She has no symptoms and underwent a trial of medication before being cleared of the condition around 8 years ago. She is now considered to be cured and discharged from any follow up appointments.

Before coming to Cura she had struggled to find life insurance but was unsure why. When we first applied on her behalf the application was declined and after some digging, we found that her medical records had a ‘did not attend’ (which means she missed one of her appointments). This was not the case and from speaking with her GP she was able to have this removed from her records. We then arranged a life insurance policy covering her for 31 years, with a benefit amount of £335,000 and a monthly premium of less than £45.
