Getting to know us better – March 2022 recapGetting to know us better – March 2022 recap

Almost a quarter of the way through the year, and what an incredible start we have had. Our team here at Cura have helped hundreds of people to protect their financial futures, and we are so pleased with the feedback that we get:

“A very happy customer. I was very happy with the service I received from Cura. The team was very quick in responding to my request and very professional in the way they dealt with my case. I am happy with the end result of my insurance and will definitely recommend Cura to my family and friends.” Ierusha, April 2022

On top of that we are continuing to help other clients by chasing the progress of their applications with insurers and healthcare professionals, challenging underwriting decisions and helping people who are unfortunately needing to make a claim.

March also saw us using our new servicing team to its full use. Our servicing team was created to be able to help more specifically with our existing clients. We thought it was important for our existing clients to have their own dedicated team and point of contact as Cura has grown, just as our new clients can rely on our administrators and their dedicated adviser.

As always, we have done our best to support members of our local community. Our donation of the month for March was to Phil Billingham and Shannon Currie from Perceptive Planning, who travelled to Poland to provide much needed support to people that are affected by the war in Ukraine.

Meet the team
Getting to know us better – March 2022 recapKellie – Administration Manager

I started my career in Cura back in 2010, fresh out of college and really needing to gain some life experience before I wanted to join the Police. Little did I know that this would be a job I fell in love with and eventually become the Administration Manager. I started in the admin team learning the ins and outs of the company and how we help people, I then ventured into being an advisor to ensure clients get the best possible service and products that were most suited to their needs and circumstances. After I came back from maternity from my second daughter, the opportunity came up as Administration Manager and I jumped at this, I have always loved the processes and procedural aspects of the job and making sure we are getting our clients the best possible services from their first interaction with us. Over the last few years, I have been able to help our administration team work seamlessly with our advisors, Insurers and medical providers to ensure we are getting fair access to insurance for our clients.

The best part of working at Cura has always been knowing that we are going above and beyond for each and every client of ours to ensure they are getting the best possible cover.

Out of work, you can usually find me in the kitchen baking cupcakes, birthday cakes, wedding cakes for friends and family. I have always loved baking and cooking but decided a few years back that I wanted to push myself further on this and now make all my families cake/cupcakes which recently meant I was able to make my mum and dads vow renewal cake and made their day extra special. If I’m not baking, I am with my husband and children out on walks along the beach in Bridlington or tucked up in front of the fire, binge watching films/series with plenty of snacks!

What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

Has to be Maldives where my husband proposed on a scuba dive.

What’s one thing you’re really good at and one thing you’re really bad at?

I’m really good at decorating cakes, even making my own wedding cake! I am really bad at losing my phone. I am forever sending my kids to search the house for it.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Chocolate, Family (if I can count them as one) and Gin

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Has to be Fillet Steak, Chips, Onion Rings and Garlic Mushrooms

Case study

Each month we are bringing to you one of our best case studies. This month, we have a man in his late 40s who needed protection insurance to cover his mortgage. He had a stroke just a couple of years before coming to Cura and is still taking medication for this. From follow up investigations it was found that he had a hole in his heart and he had surgery to correct this. He is now fully recovered from both of these and we managed to find the life insurance that he needed. His policy covers him for £308,000 for 19 years, with a monthly premium of less than £67.
