Alzheimers & Life InsuranceReceiving a diagnosis of Alzheimers for yourself, or a loved one, can make you start to focus upon what the future will bring. For some people, they can start to worry about how their family will cope financially.

It might be that arranging life insurance, now feels like a priority.

When you are diagnosed with Alzheimers, you will find that most insurers in the UK are not able to offer you a traditional life insurance policy.

You can go to our Buy Online options and see the types of life insurance that are currently available to you. The ‘EverydayProtect’ option focused more upon accidental health based claims, but also includes some life insurance once the policy has been in place for 12 months.

If you are over the age of 50, you can see the options for ‘Over 50s’ cover too. These policies exclude claims relating to pre-existing conditions for the first 6 months to 2 years. The policies act as an accidental death insurance during this time and if you do pass away, any premiums you have paid in will be refunded to your loved ones.

You can also look at the ‘Guaranteed Life’ option, however, this policy will exclude any claims that are linked to Alzheimers and any other pre-existing conditions. This is quite an extensive exclusion, please read the terms and conditions carefully.

Common Questions

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. We don’t actually advise on funeral plans, this is something that you usually arrange directly with a funeral plan provider. We can arrange life insurance policies that pay out a lump sum of money, if you father passes away. These funds can then be used to pay for a funeral or anything else that you need.

If we can arrange a time to chat, we can go through some potential options for you, so that you can compare to funeral plans. We will need to be able to see a lasting power of attorney, to be able to arrange the policy for your dad.
