Malta Life Insurance
Me and my family had a wonderful family holiday together in Malta a few years ago. Lots of swimming pools, seaside trips, and hotel kids’ clubs to keep the little ones entertained! It is the one place that the children want us to go back to,
Travelling to Malta when looking for life insurance shouldn’t be a problem. If you are looking to go to Malta for a short holiday or perhaps for work, UK insurers will probably have no issues with your travel arrangements.
When speaking with our advisers, they will ask you questions like:
- When are you going to Malta?
- Why are you going to Malta?
- How long will you be staying in Malta?
Most insurers will be absolutely fine with offering you life insurance if you are travelling to Malta on a short trip. Insurers monitor different countries around the world to see if they consider them to be risky and at the moment Malta is not a concern to insurers. You should be able to arrange life insurance at normal terms.
Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.
British citizens who have moved abroad to places like Malta can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to help you get the cover you need.
To be able to access these policies you may need to have a UK liability which could be something like a mortgage, or having children at university. If you do not have a UK liability then we can potentially look at international cover for you.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical Illness Cover for people travelling to Malta will probably be offered at standard terms. This means no premium increase and no exclusions on the policy. How much time you spend in Malta will determine which insurer is going to best for you.
If you travel frequently to Malta for work, this can sometimes impact on which insurer is right for you. They will want to know how often you travel to Malta and how long you stay there for.
Our advisers know which insurers to place your application with so that you get the best terms for critical illness cover.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
If you are heading to Malta, sorting out income protection is probably going to be fine to arrange. The duration of your stay is important in choosing the best insurer for you.
If your journey to Malta is work-related, it may have an effect your income protection application. We will probably need to ask you about your UK tax status to ensure you are eligible for the policy. This is a standard process and is just to double check whether your income protection can be placed with a UK insurer, or if you will need support from an international insurer.
Our expert advisers will listen to your circumstances and let you know the best way to protect your income.
