Botswana & Life Insurance

BotswanaIf you are planning on travelling to Botswana for a a short holiday, you shouldn’t have any major issues on your life insurance application. This does depend on the insurer you apply to life insurance for!

To check your life insurance options we will ask:

  • How long is your stay in Botswana
  • When are you travelling to Botswana?
  • Is your trip a holiday or related to your occupation?

Holidays lasting 30 days or less should be able to get life insurance at regular terms. Although, if you are planning on a longer stay or a work trip over 7 days, it is possible that insurers will want more details, like the specific area of your stay.

Your travel circumstances can mean insurers offer you standard terms for life insurance, a non-standard premium or maybe they could postpone of decline your application for life insurance. It completely depends upon how long you are going to Botswana for and why.

One more thing worth jotting down, if in the past 5 years you have spent a very significant amount of time in Botswana you may be required to do a HIV test as part of your application.

Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.

British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.

Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.

It is possible that critical illness cover will be available at standard terms, depending on the duration of your stay in Botswana. This means that there will be no exclusions on the policy or any premium increases at standard terms.

Depending on the duration of your time in Botswana and the area of your stay, your critical illness options may change.

A trip to Botswana that is less than 30 days stands a good chance of you getting cover on standard terms. However, if you will be away for more than 30 days, or expect to travel lots outside of the UK over the upcoming year, an insurer who can accommodate your travel plans is essential.

Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.

Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.

It is possible that income protection will be available at normal terms for people travelling to Botswana, if your visit is under 30 days and to a low risk area.

You will be asked by your insurer if you doing any work there, if travelling abroad in general is part of your job, and where you will be based.

Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.

5 star people and service. Even though it was quite the process the Cura team couldn’t have made it any easier or been more friendly. - 5
