Argentina & Life Insurance

ArgentinaLife insurance for people visiting Argentina will regularly be available at normal terms if you are going for a holiday.

A holiday can be looked at differently depending upon the insurer that you use. A rough guide is that a holiday is a trip up to 30 days.

To check your life insurance options we will ask:

  • When is your trip to Argentina?
  • Where in Argentina will you stay?
  • How long will your visit be?

Trips under 30 days can often mean that you have more access to normal terms of life insurance. You can find that longer trips abroad can lead insurers to ‘rate’ (increase the premiums) of your life insurance and sometimes potentially decline your application.

If you are going to Argentina for work, insurers are usually okay if the trip is up to one week. You can find options for life insurance when you are going to be in Argentina for longer periods, but it is essential that research is done to find the best insurer for you.

Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.

British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.

Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.

You will need to detail your reason of visiting Argentina in your critical illness cover application e.g. holiday or work trip. You will likely be asked your place of stay and how often you plan on visiting Argentina.

Short-term holidays, less than 30 days, should result in regular terms for your critical illness cover. This means no premium increase or exclusions, which is exactly what you are aiming for.

Long-term trips, over 30 days, may lead to your critical illness cover being offered at special terms. This is most likely a premium increase.

You can also find that some insurers will decline your application for critical illness cover, once you detail a longer trip outside of the UK. This is due to residency permissions and eligibility to arrange a UK based insurance contract, given your travel.

Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.

Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.

Income protection for travellers going to Argentina could be available at normal terms. If you are travelling to Argentina to work your insurer could ask about your occupational duties and how often your travel to Argentina.

Journeys less than 30 days do not typically pose any real concern to insurers and you are likely to get income protection at normal terms. Journeys over 30 days can lead some insurers to offer income protection with non-standard terms (a higher premium).

For longer trips insurers are more likely to postpone or decline your application for income protection, instead of increasing the premium. This is due to eligibility requirements to arrange a UK based insurance contract.

Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
