Stunt Performers & Life Insurance
As a stunt performer who wants life insurance, there is going to need to be some thorough research for your cover.
Your occupation is seen as a high risk by insurers due to the very nature of your role – you are putting yourself in dangerous situations. We know that you will be highly skilled and there will be a lot of safety procedures in place, the concern though is that if something goes wrong, it can really go very wrong.
To double check your life insurance options, our advisers may ask:
- What kinds of stunt work do you do?
- Do you travel outside of the UK for work and if yes how often?
You may find that mainstream insurers decline your application for life insurance, due to your work. This might not be the case, but if you are doing really high risk activities and/or travel abroad significantly, you could find getting life insurance tricky.
If you do get life insurance it is likely that you will be offered it at higher premiums. The insurer might also limit how long you can have the insurance for e.g. a maximum 10 years.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
Stunt Performers & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
As you are at a higher risk of serious injuries, most options for critical illness cover will be a higher premium, if they insurer can offer cover at all. The insurer will exclude ‘Total Permanent Disability’ from your policy, due to the higher risk of you becoming seriously disabled due to your role.
We have access to specialist critical illness policies or career ending injury insurance, if the options with mainstream insurers are not available to you.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Stunt Performers & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Any income protection applications will be assessed by the insurer on the likelihood of you making a claim, like they do with everyone.
Your occupation places you at a higher risk of making a claim for a couple of reasons. The first, is that you are putting yourself into situations where being hurt is much higher than working at a desk in an office. The second, is that it doesn’t take much ill health on your part for you to be unable to do your role. As an example, if someone breaks their leg they can probably still work at a desk, but if you do it’s far more likely that you won’t be able to carry on working for a good while.
You will probably find that career ending injury insurance is more appropriate to your needs than income protection, but it’s always worth asking and finding out.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
