Chemists & Life Insurance
As a chemist you could be working with a completely different range of risks that insurers might want to know about, when you apply for life insurance.
It could be that your work is purely computer based and analysis of data, which isn’t going to cause much concern to insurers. On the other hand you might be working with highly flammable materials and be in a riskier working environment than other people, despite all the safety measures in place.
When you apply for life insurance in the UK insurers will ask for your occupation. When assessing your life insurance application as a chemist, the insurers is trying to take into account the whole range of different job roles and risks that a chemist might face.
To check if your work might alter your options for life insurance, we will ask you:
- What are your job duties as a chemist?
- What industry do you work in?
- Is your work based in the UK or do you travel abroad?
You can find that some life insurance applications ask you what type of chemist you are and this could influence your options for insurance. These options can include things like analytical chemist, manufacturing chemist, research chemist, chemical engineer working offshore, and much more.
Insurers will then often ask if you work involves any kind of heavy machinery, being part of the armed forces, diving, offshore work, and a few other areas. The type of chemist you are and the nature of the industry that you are in could have quite an influence on who will be the best insurer for you.
Best case scenario it is possible for chemists to potentially access life insurance at standard terms. However, if you work in an environment that the insurers consider to be quite risky, or travel significantly as part of your work, there are times that insurers will offer life insurance at non-standard terms or decline the life insurance application.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
Chemists & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover will be assessed in a similar way to life insurance. The type of work you are doing, the industry you are in and if you’re in the UK or not, will all play a part in your options for critical illness cover.
Critical illness cover could be available at standard terms, or potentially declined with some insurers, depending upon your specific circumstances.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Chemists & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection when you are chemist needs a lot of thought about which insurer that you use. Most insurers look at applications for income protection, they class occupations on their risk between 1-4, with 4 being the most risky. Depending on upon your specific duties, your job could be anywhere on this scare.
The higher risk your job is, the higher the cost for income protection. But, there are some insurers that specifically do not charge higher premiums based upon occupations, and they might be a really good option for you.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
