You can get income protection when you are teacher with many insurance providers. Teachers are seen as having a higher risk of claim on an income protection policy, due to the stress that comes with the job. Ideally you want a policy that is accepted with an own occupation definition, which will mean that any claim that you place will be based upon your ability to be a teacher; other definitions of cover are far more difficult to claim on.
