Chile & Life Insurance
Life insurance for travelers to Chile can often be available at regular terms, if it’s a small trip. A short trip in life insurance terms usually means less than 30 days for a holiday, or less than a week for work.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you travelling to Chile?
- How long is your visit to Chile?
- Where will you stay in Chile?
- Are you going to Chile for work or leisure?
Journeys under 30 days will probably not affect your life insurance terms. This means you should be offered normal prices for your life insurance. A journey over 30 days can potentially result in non-standard terms. This is most likely a premium increase, but quite a few insurers will postpone your application until you are back from your trip, rather than offering cover at a higher price.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical Illness cover may need some extra details about your trip to Chile. Some insurers may ask where you plan to stay and for how long, they sometimes even ask what kind of transport you will be using when abroad.
A short-term trip less than 30 days will not have much of an affect on your terms of cover, with some insurers. Although, long-term trips over 30 days can have an affect on your critical illness cover and may result in non-standard terms or your application being declined until you are back from Chile.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection may possibly be accessed with normal terms in some situations. When travelling to Chile for work your insurer may ask about your occupational duties, how long you plan on staying in Chile, and the duration of your stay.
A 30 day or longer trip to Chile could result in your income protection having non-regular terms. Insurers are very particular about residency, tax status and other things when considering income protection applications, and regular or long periods abroad can significantly alter your options for insurance.
A trip less than 30 days might be considered with regular terms (normal pricing).
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
