Couriers & Life Insurance
When you are a delivery driver your work can be something that insurers want to know more about, before they offer you life insurance.
Regularly being out on the road, can be more risky than a desk job, and the insurers just want to make sure that they fully understand what your work entails.
To double check the right life insurance options for you, our advisers may ask:
- How many miles do drive for work each year?
- Do you use a bicycle, car, van or motorbike for your deliveries?
- Are your deliveries solely based in the UK, or do you travel abroad too?
If your work is based purely in the UK, you can find that your life insurance is offered at anywhere from standard terms, up to a premium increase. The premium increase depends upon the amount of driving that you do each year.
Delivery drivers who use a motorbike will need to be selective over which insurers their life insurance application is placed with. Some insurers automatically increase premiums for motorbike users, by quite a lot.
If you travel abroad as part of your work, the insurer will want to know which countries you are travelling to and how long you are outside of the UK for each trip.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
Couriers & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Arranging critical illness cover should be quite straightforward if your courier work is purely in the UK.
If you use a motorbike for your deliveries this can have quite an impact on the premium for critical illness cover. Critical illness cover isn’t the cheapest policy in the first place, so it’s essential to try and find an insurer that doesn’t mind that you’re using a motorbike.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Couriers & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Just like life insurance and critical illness cover, income protection should be quite simple to arrange for you if your work is based in the UK. The amount of miles that you travel each year and riding a motorbike, can influence who the best insurer will be for you and the quality of the contract that you get.
With income protection it is really important to remember that this is about being ill and unable to work. The policy does not cover loss of earnings if you do not have a contract renewed.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
