Being diagnosed with dyslexia can often come with a sense of relief, it can be nice to finally have an explanation for why you haven’t found some things particularly easy.
You may be worried that having a diagnosed medical condition will impact your insurance and that you will have to read huge complicated contracts, but here at Cura we can help you every step of the way.
Dyslexia does not come up as a question in life insurance applications. Most of the time insurers and brokers will have no idea that you are dyslexic, unless you tell them.
Whilst you don’t need to tell us that you are dyslexic, if you do we can adapt our processes to support you more.
The good news is, dyslexia is very unlikely to affect your life insurance rates. You should be able to get life insurance at normal terms, when you are dyslexic.
However, if you experience complications such as regular migraines, or have other neurological conditions that affect your day to day life, you may find your terms increasing above standard pricing.
Our expert advisers are here to make sure that you get the best life insurance and that you feel fully supported during your life insurance application.
Dyslexia & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Your critical illness cover is not likely too be affected by your dyslexia. Most of the time you won’t even need to include in in your critical illness cover application.
If you have ADHD, migraines or other conditions that can be linked to dyslexia, the insurers will usually want to know more about them when you apply for insurance.
Our award winning advisers will help you every step of the way.
Dyslexia & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Your income protection application should be unaffected by your dyslexia. If you have been unable to work due to your dyslexia this could be something that the insurers want to know a bit more about.
Income protection is a policy where insurers often put exclusions on policies for pre-existing medical conditions. Don’t worry, dyslexia is very unlikely to cause any changes to the cost of your income protection cover and no exclusions should be applied.
If your dyslexia causes you to have migraines, or if you have other medical conditions, these could potentially alter the options for income protection for you.
Our expert advisers will make sure that you get the right income protection policy, to give you peace of mind.
