Turkmenistan & Life Insurance
Life insurance should not be a problem to get with most insurers when visiting Turkmenistan, if you are going on a short holiday or work trip.
Insurers do tend to ask if you are planning on travelling outside of the UK, Europe and Northern America, so your visit to Turkmenistan might need to be declared.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you going to Turkmenistan?
- Where in Turkmenistan will you visit?
- How long is your trip to Turkmenistan?
- Is your travel to Turkmenistan work-related, or a holiday?
Insurers in the UK may offer you normal terms for life insurance, if you are going on a short trip to Turkmenistan. A short trip usually means less than 30 days for a holiday, or less than a week for work. However, insurers are constantly watching the risks of travelling to different countries and their neighbours, which can play a big part on whether they will offer you life insurance or decline your application.
It is important that you tell the insurer how long you plan to be in Turkmenistan. Long periods of time outside of the UK and/or frequent trips abroad can really affect the options you have for life insurance. This is mainly due to the insurer checking that you are eligible for life insurance with them, on their rules of assessing if you are a UK resident.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover may be available to you at normal terms with many insurance providers when taking a short stay at Turkmenistan. In the world of insurance a short stay is usually considered to be under 30 days for a holiday, and less than 7 days if it’s for work.
Critical illness cover is even stricter than life insurance when it comes to travel abroad. This is in part because the insurer needs to assess the ability for you to access medical care abroad, the quality of care you will receive and how likely it is you will be able to return to the UK if you do become critically ill.
When planning on going to Turkmenistan for longer time periods, some insurance providers will want more details. For example, the reason of your journey and what you do there.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection may be available at standard terms when travelling to Turkmenistan for holidays less than 30 days, and work trips of less than 7 days.
When you visit Turkmenistan as part of your occupation, some extra questions might be asked by your insurance provider. For example, your exact duties there and where you plan on staying in Turkmenistan. They might also ask you how you plan to travel whilst in the country.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
