Suriname & Life Insurance
Good news, Suriname is not currently seen as a particularly risky place to travel. Your ability to arrange life insurance should be quite straightforward with some insurers.
You are likely to be offered life insurance at normal terms if you have upcoming travel to Suriname. This means no premium increases or exclusions. But, there are times when this won’t be the case.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- How long will you be in Suriname for?
- When will you visit Suriname?
- Are you travelling to Suriname for a holiday or for work?
Short trips to Suriname shouldn’t have any effect on your life insurance application, as long as you pick the right insurer for your cover. Short stays usually mean less than 30 days for a holiday and less than a week for work.
If you are spending more time than this in Suriname, or are travelling there frequently, your choice of insurer will start to become even more essential in making sure that you get a good price for your insurance.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover for people visiting Suriname may be offered at standard terms with some insurers. The more time you spend in Suriname the more likely it is that your application for critical illness cover will be looked at more closely by the insurer.
Short stays are unlikely to cause a concern and you might be able to arrange the insurance straight away. If you travelling for longer stays, or are out of the UK regularly, this can sometimes lead to the insurer wanting an underwriter to assess your application in more detail, which can take a little longer to arrange. Hopefully just a day or two.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection should be fine to arrange when you plan to travel to Suriname, if you are going for a short trip.
You generally need to pay UK tax to be eligible for the policy with a UK insurer.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
