Netherlands & Life Insurance

We absolutely loved our family holiday to a theme park called Efteling in the Netherlands a few years ago. I think I enjoyed it more than the kids!

When you travel to the Netherlands, you will likely find that life insurance premiums will be offered at normal terms. This means that the premium won’t increase and you won’t have any exclusions on your policy, but it’s always a good idea to check before travelling.

Our advisers will need to ask you some questions such as:

  • When are you going to the Netherlands?
  • Why are you going to the Netherlands?
  • How long will you be in the Netherlands for?

Usually travel to the Netherlands doesn’t affect applying for life insurance. If you’re going to be spending more than 30 days in the Netherlands, our advisers will probably need to do a bit more research for you to get the best insurer for your needs.

Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.

British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.

With these types of policies, you usually need a UK liability such as a mortgage, or children at university. If you don’t have a UK liability, we can also look at international cover for you.

Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.

Offers of critical illness cover with travel to the Netherlands, are likely to be at standard terms i.e. no premium increases or exclusions. This will depend on how long you are planning on spending in the Netherlands. If your stay takes you over 30 days, or if you travel regularly to the Netherlands, this will determine which insurer is best for you.

Our advisers are on hand to find the most appropriate insurer for your circumstances.

Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.

Taking out income protection when you travel to the Netherlands will probably be offered at normal terms. How long you spend in the Netherlands, and how often you go there will help us determine which policy and insurer is best for you.

If you travel to the Netherlands for work, we might need to ask you some questions about where you pay tax, just to make sure that you are eligible for the policy.

Our expert advisers can help you in finding you the best income protection policy.
