Jamaica & Life Insurance
Glorious sunshine, pristine beaches, music, jungles and more. Jamaica is a spot of holiday magic for many people.
When you travel to Jamaica you are highly likely to get life insurance at regular terms. This may change depending on if your stay exceeds 30 days for a holiday, or is over a week long for a work trip.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When will you visit Jamaica?
- How long will you be in Jamaica?
- Are you travelling to Jamaica for work or a holiday?
Quite a lot of the time holidays to Jamaica don’t cause any issues to your life insurance application. This means that you should be able to get your life insurance at normal terms – basic prices.
You may need to place your life insurance application with different insurers if you plan on staying over 30 days in Jamaica, or if you have frequent trips outside the UK across the year.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover for people travelling to Jamaica will generally be offered at standard terms.
Depending on how long you spend in Jamaica and how many trips you take annually, there may be some research needed to find you the best insurer. Your insurer will want to know how long you will be in Jamaica as part of your application, as they have specific eligibility criteria based upon residency. It’s really important to remember that what you class as your residency does not always match the way insurers see it.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection for people travelling to Jamaica is generally fine and your application will normally be arranged at standard terms.
If your trip to Jamaica is work related there could be some changes made to your income protection application. Insurers will want to know if you pay UK tax or not, to make sure you fit into their requirements to be eligible to the policy.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
