Bahamas & Life Insurance
When travelling to The Bahamas it is very likely you will get life insurance on standard terms. This can vary depending on how long you plan to be outside of the UK.
Times that your options for life insurance can change are when a holiday is over 30 days or more than a week long trip for work.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you going to the Bahamas?
- How long is your trip to the Bahamas?
- Is your trip to the Bahamas work related or a holiday?
For most people holidays to The Bahamas don’t cause any real problems to your life insurance application. You should get your life insurance on regular terms which means basic price.
If you plan to spend an excessive amount of time in The Bahamas or visit frequently throughout the year we may need to find another insurer for you.
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Generally, critical illness cover will be offered at standard terms when you visit the Bahamas. If you spend over 30 days on a holiday or a week long work trip to the Bahamas we may need to find you a more specialist insurer.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection for people visiting the Bahamas is normally fine and your application will probably be accepted at standard terms. If your trip is work related there may be some changes made to your application and your insurer will need to check if you are eligible for the policy.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.

“Highly recommended. The team I dealt with were fantastic from start to finish. Communication was great, they kept me updated throughout the process and were lovely to speak to and always on hand if I had a query. Plus, they managed to get me life insurance when I had been refused several times before. I would highly recommend!” - 5
