FTAdviser writes about Kathryn’s plans for an adviser training programme. The course will be offered over 12 weeks, with sessions lasting an hour each week. There is also the option of three-day intensive courses, on an ad-hoc basis.
In addition to weekly sessions, participants will be able to put questions to Kathryn through a private social community, over the duration of the course.
Kathryn says: “Something that has stood out to me for a while is that a lot of advisers are being strongly encouraged to start offering protection insurance. That is great. But it needs to be done correctly and there are a lot of quirks with protection cover.
“I have come across quite a few circumstances over the years where protection has not been arranged correctly and this is of course not good for the customer, or for the adviser.”
The course will cover topics such as personal, business and group protection, health conditions that advisers are likely to come across and include a live role-play fact-find.
