Photographers & Life Insurance
Being a professional photographer is a highly skilled role and there is so much responsibility on you recording those perfect moments.
Whether it’s a cake smash, first wedding kiss, catching a skater mid kickflip or the perfect afternoon tea in Paris, your role is all about capturing the beauty and essence of that moment.
Most of the time being a photographer will have no impact upon your life insurance applications, but, it’s always best to check.
To make sure that you get the right life insurance, our advisers may ask:
- Is your work solely in the UK or do you travel abroad?
- Do you ever work at heights?
- Is your photography in a studio or office, or are you in more extreme settings where you’re on a motorbike, abseiling or underwater?
If your work as a photography is purely based in the UK in a studio setting, you should be able to life insurance at normal terms.
Work that you do abroad might come up in the insurers’ questions, but if your trip is for less than a week, then it shouldn’t be an issue. The locations that you go to could potentially have an influence and you can look at our travel pages for the latest guidance.
If you need to do anything sporty to capture the perfect shot, that has a bit of risk to it, this can have quite an influence on the cost of your life insurance. If an insurer is bothered about the sporting activities that you do, it isn’t usually a small change to the premium, it’s often quite a jump!
Our award winning advisers are here to give you peace of mind with the right life insurance policy, so that if the worst happens, your loved ones will be taken care of.
Photographers & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover should be available at standard terms for photographers based in the UK.
Travel abroad and any special activities you do, such as working at heights, can make a big difference as to which insurer is going to be right for your critical illness cover.
Our expert advisers are trained to find the critical illness policy that matches you and your needs, so that if you are diagnosed with a critical illness, you can focus upon you rather than worrying about money.
Photographers & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Being a photographer can actually be seen as quite a risky job when it comes to income protection. That is because your work can be so reliant upon physical body.
A broken hand, eye infection, shoulder strain, bad back, any of these things could seriously affect your ability to do your role, depending upon the type of photography that you do. So you can find that some insurers automatically make your premiums higher, because of your work.
Not all insurers do this and research is absolutely key to make sure that you get the best price for your income protection.
Protecting your income is one of the most important things that you can do to protect your financial future and our award winning advisers are here to sort it for you.
