Morocco & Life Insurance
When applying for life insurance, Morocco is a country some insurers might want too know about. A short holiday to Morocco will probably not affect your life insurance premiums, but an extended stay or a work trip might.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:

Most short trips to Morocco won’t affect your life insurance premiums. Insurers are constantly watching different insurers to see if anything is changing in the political landscape, any civil unrest, or other factors that could make your trip to Morocco more risky.
Where there is some uncertainty over safety of travel to a country, some insurers might want to delay your life insurance application, until you have returned to the UK. However, this isn’t always the case and it might be that the specific location that you are travelling to is absolutely fine.

British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Unless you are travelling to particularly risky locations, your critical illness cover should be offered at normal terms if you are taking a short trip (this is often 30 days or less for a holiday).

Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Travelling to Morroco for a short period, for work or leisure, shouldn’t have an affect on your income protection policy. For income protection, insurers like to be crystal clear that you are a UK resident, working in the UK and paying UK tax. So if you are spending a longer time in Morocco, you can find that some insurers can be uncertain about offering cover.
If absolute need be there are some international income protection options that you could consider. However, most of the time income protection should be available to you without any concerns.
